OYPS was founded in 2002 by Grant Thornton, Blake Lapthorn, RBS and Savills. Our network has now grown and we welcome support from other local businesses.
We are a not for profit organisation run by a voluntary committee who give up their own time to organise events and manage the society.
Our aim is to enable graduate and newly qualified members of staff to develop networking and cross business relationships with their peers.
The firms that support OYPS recognise that networking is an important skill that is developed along with the technical skills of any chosen career. They actively encourage staff to attend OYPS and to join the committee.
OYPS organise a wide variety of events focused around professional development, charity fundraising and informal networking. We are always open to suggestions for new events and welcome input from our members.
We organise free events and more formal events for which we charge a fee to cover our costs.
Membership costs £25 per year. You do not have to be a member to come along to our events, but we offer reduced event admission to our members.
